100W for $170???

No indication of peak or RMS watts. No downloadable owners manual. Nothing can be known about it unless you buy one and give it a try. What can you lose? Designing a 50 W RMS (= 100 W peak) bass amp ain't rocket science. The tone will largely rest on the quality of the speaker.

I would definitely go used rather than buy that amp. It weighs as much as my 140-watt Hartke combo and could very well only be 50 watts RMS. I bought my three amps and my cabinet used, and didn't spend more than 100 dollars on any one of them. Search your local Craigslist for a few weeks and see if you can get lucky on Ebay.

Buying used can take a little time to find a good deal on something you like, but sometimes you can get very very lucky.
