11-string Wishbass?

Of course, that bass is unplayable just like all of his basses unless you like living with spinters you could have made a better bass on your way to work, while driving in rush hour traffic, with coffee on your lap and eating a scrambled egg and cheese biscuit with a hash brown and a small bowl of grits.

boy, you made a huge mouthful statement.

Yes, that bass is most-likely unplayable...
but many of his basses, especially his 4-string fretlesses are
QUITE playable.

Yes, a little setup may be required, but I assure you that I NEVER got a splinter from my wish...and after a reasonable amount of setting up, it plays quite good...and the tone...

well tone get me started on the tone...
it sounds SWEET!

Just like i said you could have made a better bass on your way to work, if i'm going to have to set it up. I saw a Wish Bass in a music store (ATOMIC) and one almost went up in my finger, dagnabbit.:bawl:

I have to hand it to him. He manages to find buyers for his crap. One of his creations showed up in a local consignment shop. It was absolutely dreadful and the seller was asking $300 for it. I was tempted to say that I'd haul it away if they gave me $25.

he has an upright. it looks alright but, just plain and i think my niece helped him build it (she's 6) but, really she did most of the work he just signed his name to it.

I have 2 Wishbasses. One is a very unusual 6 string bass that looks and plays like a cello. Acutally its modeled after a viola da gamba. It has a lovely sound and I've used it for recording several times. The other is a 4 string BG that I've played every weekend in an R+B band for the last 8 months since I got it. I'm planning to order a 3rd in a few weeks.

There is nothing usual about Wishbasses. He and his work is original. You should visit his website and read about why he does what he does. At first I thought his comments about not having a trussrod was strange, but since owning and playing two of his instruments I'll tell you, he's right. The necks are thick, but easy to play, and since I switched from my Rickenbacker to Wishbass, I don't have hand cramps and the morning after a 4 hour gig, my left arm is free of pain.

I'll give you that the 'fit and finish' is less than the production line models you see in stores. So, you'll spend a little time with some steel wool and doing the finish yourself (highly recommended) and perhaps some other little things here and there, but you'll have a unique looking and great sounding bass.

As P.T. Barnum said "There's a sucker, a dufus , a special ed riff raff and a yellow bus rider born every minute" and that sums it all up. I could make a flute out of elephant dung and I bet a $100.00 that someone on this planet will pay for it and try it out. You can't get no simpler than that.

This bass will take you into a parallel universe where the red light means go, you brush your teeth with shoe polish, sort of like Bizarro World actually it will be Bizarro World. me no like bizarro worlD. :eek: :hmm: :confused:

It takes serious guts and a lot of maturity to post this. I agree with you.

However, that's still a gross bass.
