Well in Make magazine issue four they tell you how to make an electric cigar box guitar for under 20 dollars...and they actually have some pics of a lego dulcimer and another lego midi guitar thing contraption. SO in all honesty you probably could make a bass out of legos.

It's getting to be re-god-d@#m-diculous in here. This think looks like some low budget sci-fi film that had to create the "instruments of the future." I can just imagine a car salesman selling a flying car with a band behind him playing these things. Either that or it's a George Lucas flop for some five armed monster that didn't make it in the Star Wars saga.
Ok... I'll just go home now.
If I found one of these someplace, I'd HAVE to try it.
There's no way I'd buy it, but I'd try it out! It looks like it could only be played well by fingertapping, Chapman style, which is kind of pointless to me since I can just play keyboards instead...
But eleven strings, dang. This thing probably shouldn't really be considered a bass, since it can probably go as high as it can low...maybe it's more like a fretted harp?
All the same, this thing is certainly unusual, and I love trying unusual things.*

Where would you pluck the strings on that thing...the edge of the neck on the low strings and saddles for the high strings are almost overlapping...I MUST PLAY THAT!
Personally speaking, I LIKE IT!!! It would be an awesome challenge to play such an instrument and even develope my own tuning and sound with it.
you say that, but you know in your heart if that thing played like butter and looked as cute as a puppy (or kitty depending on ur preference) in person, there'd be no turning back...
