11-string Wishbass?

First, you haven't read them here and you're not likely to. We've bought them (2) just to test out and believe me, if there was a favorable review given of them, it was probably written by a guitarist.

No, it's not "half" bad - it's completely bad.

How, in heavens name, does he continue to do such shoddy work like the offset location of the F holes? I mean damn, it is natural for humans to seek balance in the way they lay things out. Why doesn't he see this flaw? And if he did see it, why does he continue to be satisfied with it?:scowl:

Yeah, I agree...and besides being non-symetrical in the least, it looks like it's made of play-dough. What's up with that?

It's apparent that the guy can't measure anything well enough to make it remotely even on both sides (in any capacity), but he can't even sand something reasonably flat...which, last I checked, wasn't all that hard. It's as if he doesn't even care, or try. Everything looks like it was made out of play-dough by a toddler.

One last observation about the 11-string: if the two rightmost pickups were just overlapped a little less, the third one wouldn't even be needed. Bad enough two pickups were wasted on that thing...if he just layed the pickups out better, one bobbin could have at least been spared such a horrible fate...

Well then, you didn't read any of my reviews because they were certainly favorable. And I'm not a guitarist, but a veteran bassist of 29 years. I also believe that I have purchased more Wishbasses than anyone. Count ten in total. I've since sold four because I needed the money for other basses, but I have six left. One will probably go but the other five are keepers. The first of these Wishbasses that I've purchased (all 4-string fretless bought off Ebay) is the one in my avatar which is the same one pictured in the Wishbass ad in the back of the last few issues of Bass Player magazine. I love these things. They sound great, play great, some are beautiful (but not all, including this 11-stringer which I think is ugly) and I think they are very comfortable to play. This is not to say that they are without flaws. My biggest gripe is that most of mine have inaccurately placed position markers on the side of the neck. Often the pickups are set too low which takes away from the output (cannot be raised) and occasionally there is a dead of buzzing spot on the neck. But we are not talking an expensive bass here, and for what you get, they are a fantastic instrument and a great deal.

I can honestly say I don't want to play that bass. I guess you've been lied to most of your life so you don't know when someone's telling the truth. I don't want to play a Wishbass....EVER.
