110vac equipment to 220vac oulet

Hi
This is my first post, and i hope to get some help here in the "electronics department"

I have a Samson PB9 power conditioner and an Aphex 204, both rackmounted along Hartke ha3500 in a 4u rack case,
My problem is that the samson and aphex use 110 vac...I know i can have a converter adaptor from 110 to 220 (wich i live, in Chile is the current), but i want to use all three equipment at once, being the Samson pb9 wich would send power to the aphex (110 vac) and the hartke (220 or 110, switcheable).

Is there any way I can modify safely the samson pb9 in order to convert to 220, and so i can give the power to the hartke and the aphex....or can use safely an adaptor like this (http://www.ebay.com/itm/STEP-UP-VOLTAGE-CONVERTER-110V-to-220V-TRANSFORMER-50W-/221224331625) for the aphex and plug it to one of the outlet of the samson?

Any advice will serve me well

There are two ways. First check the power transformers for dual primary windings. If present, series wiring works for 220V and parallel wiring works for 110V. If the transformers are single primary, then you will need a 2:1 turns-ratio transformer to get things working. The one you linked has a power rating of 50W. (Should be in Volt-Amperes, not Watts, but the two measures should be similar, under ideal conditions.) That might be enough for an effects processor, but an amp will almost certainly use more power. Note that your thread title suggests a step-down transformer, and that is a step-up transformer. Which way are you going?

My "wall source" is 220 , that's the voltage here in Chile.
Do you suggest to open the chassis of the SAmson power condiioner to look inside and made some modification on circuit?


Asides...external power tranformers are a bit heavy, and my back don't want to carry 9 lbs extra in the rack case.. if ..and if that were the last option , for that i will need something like this ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed])
 
some tech specs o the Samson pb9:

Based on that info, the maximum voltage is 130V. A step-down transformer will be required. Power conditioners do not draw much current, so power should not be much higher than the wattage of the light bulbs. I've just checked and the Aphex 204 draws 12W, and the Hartke HA3500 is configurable for 220V operation. That being said, you should be able to find another 50W transformer of the step-down variety, and use that.
 
I'm thinking on that..but i'm considering in run all three equipments to only one power cord to the wall outlet..saying that, it is posible to kept the hartke on 110v mode, and plug it to the samson as well the aphex too for that matter, both of which would run with one 50w transformer each: one for the aphex to one of the back outlets of the samson, and one transformer for the samson to convert their 110v, to the wall current 220v source?

The maximum power consumption of the Hartke HA3500 is 1000W at 115V and 920W at 230V. This is determined by multiplying the specified input voltage by the fuse ratings. You will be consuming at least a few hundred watts at any given time, so a 50W transformer is going to fry quickly. Even if it held up, the amp would be starved of current.
