For all of you guys that exclusively use 12" speakers!

I've been using my Aguilar DB112 cabinets for a while now and I absolutely love them :hyper: They're small but can cover any stage!

So it's:

Because everything affects tone. There are a lot of bass players that like tens. Let 'em start a club. Maybe someone wants to start a Birch Ply Cab Club. Let 'em. How 'bout a Chrome Plate Knob Club. It sort of doesn't matter does it? It's silly and fun. Relax. Let's party with those twelves!!!

SWR 12-Packs.

Because it propagates a ridiculous myth that speaker size determines tone in any way other than midrange dispersion and contributing to maximum LF output. :) ...

Excellent point. But the real reason a 12" exclusive club won't work is because of all of the cheating. Like all of the folks who join up and swear that they won't use any other speaker sizes but cheat on the side. Like when no one is looking they gig with their 10" cabs or 15" cabs. Like I would. Because I'm a cheater. :)

P.S. No number, please.

i see those are BFM designs? how do you like the cabs? what drivers did you use?

As I said, I absolutely love them. Super loud with my old 200W amp. I have yet to try them outdoor without any room echo and without anything rattling around. I've reused a pair of Kappa Pro 12. Those are NOT the optimal drivers for those designs, but they seem to work really well (I haven't heard with the optimal driver though...).
While its size is intimidating, with the wheels and handles, the sub is fairly easy to move around and it behaves nicely in the stairs.

If you have any doubt... well ....don't! Just commit, go for it and enjoy the result (and the journey).

I ditched my Aguilar GS212 in favor of a couple of more "portable" Avatar cube cabs I rear ported and installed Eminence Kappa Pro-12A's in. Serious punch and no stinkin' tweeters. Not interested in club membership, thank you - I'd never be a part of an organization that would have me as a member :p
