Is there any set out there that has a 140. B-string ive searched online and at my local GC, but ive only found mediums with a 135, what brand if any makes a 140. gauge string for a 5ver

Been using these for 4 years, the only set that provides sufficient tension tuning flat on a 35" scale bass.

Im going to give those metal masters a shot, although Ive never played with all steel strings before, what should I expect in difference???
I have a 34" scale plus I tune down a step to A, a 135. still gets floppy down tuned to A, which would be the main reason I would need it, I also like heavier strings, ive never liked the feel of light gauge strings
Might not fit in your bridge, and definitely not in your existing nut. The nut is easy to fix, the bridge might need to be widened to admit the string. I had to do that just to get a .130 on my four-string.
Depends really,I did this on an old squire P-bass, I had to drill the bridge string hole so the 130.B would actually fit into the bridge, then I had to widen the nut slot, the string sat pretty well on the stock bridge saddle, but it might not on your bass.
What is the advantage to using a heavier B string? Is it stiffer compared to lighter gage strings?
Yup higher tension in standard tuning, and less floppy than lighter spaghetti gauges at dropped tunings
I actually ended up buying a 140.B dean markley sr2000 from just strings.com its a great string so far, has a nice all around sound, a 145. would probably be even better for me, but hard to find
