Does anyone have an acrobat file of the double bass part for the 1812 Overture? I'll be playing it on Independence Day and I'd like to woodshed it a bit. Also- I'd appreciate any suggestions about performing the piece. Thanks folks!

You might want to check a local university music faculty, they will probably have a copy of the bass part. Or try a local orchestra. The piece is mostly sight-readable except a couple of a passages, plus kthere is often a cut on the third page. The real obstacle is a lot of it is written in 6 b's or 5 #'s. You'll have a blast (literally)!!! And the audience always goes nuts and leaps to their feet at the end.
Join the Darwin Symphony Orchestra in Australia, you play it at least 8 times a year (they have 8 concerts a year).
