Not bad advice. Better advice when the price is higher. With that much headroom for any repairs I wouldn't go that that far. It is a nice old bass for under 2K. It will need repairs, it is just a matter of when.
Worry about the sound and scale and jump on it if it passes.

Also, if they throw in the Underwood, that is not a bad pick up to have on hand. Not the very best, but pro, solid and reliable.

Saw the bass yesterday. Didn’t buy it. It is a decent bass especially for the money. The crack by the sound post was a lot longer than I thought from the photo. And there were a couple of other open cracks in the top, so it would have to come off. It also had a super skinny neck. Similar to an old Kay I used to have. I’m used to a chunkier neck. Anyway it can all be fixed just didn’t like it enough to through all the work and repairs. Thanks all for your input.
