1957 King standard american with a repaired scroll

I really think this is the one for me. How critical is a cracked scroll? Seller says, it has been repaired with no issue for decades. Should I buy this? Under $2000..

Looks like an upright. You'd probably have better luck moving this to the Double Bass section.
