1964 Jazz Bass

Anyway, I'd definitely make the drive across the island to try it out. It be the neck and the pups I'd be most concerned about. If trussrod works, neck has no bows or twists, and it sounds good, you could have a fantastic deal on your hands.

I was in La Gomera once for a week, and hung out a few times in the music/luthier scene in Formentera/Balearic Islands (not Canarian Islands but some of the same hippie-vs-locals vibe). In Formentera I'd be watching out more for people doing forgeries than in the Canaries....

Either way let me know next time you're in Brooklyn, and we'll grab a beer!

Thanks everybody!
I don´t know if all of you know by heart all those little differences between years, but the GAS blind me.
I could have done some more research before asking, and while you were helping, I´ve been looking through my "the fender bass history" checking this and that and learning a bit more, this is what happens when you suffer from Fender basses fetish ....
It´s very rare to spot a bass like this here in Gran Canaria, maybe some more can be found in Spain mainland, so I´m blaiming on the GAS...:D

I´ve been to NY but... never to La Gomera :ninja: or El Hierro... so close and so far away... that´s what happens when you need a plane or boat if you need to travel further than 100 kilometres away....
I think there is a guy making nice basses in Mallorca. I´ll take your word, next beer somewere in Altantic Av! and then a visit to Adam Yauch park!
