1966 Rickenbacker 4005

Just purchased this and need to replace what looks like 20 yr old+ strings. What is recommended ie brand and type

There are a TON of different options out there. What looks like is on there are Rotosound Swing Bass 66's if they are Round Wounds...

What kind of tone are you looking for? This is what will determine the strings that would be best for you.

Kewl find. Those do look like rotosound swing66 strings going by the red silk and the look of silked sections on headstock. Those would certainly be the strings many would use for that bass once john entwistle and rotosound got them out. SLaPiNFuNK is certainly right about string choice beingmainly up to preferred tone.
