1967 p bass opinions

Hi there

Recently this bass come to me. Would to know people thoughts about this

As far as I know is a 1967 p bass with some " modifications"

Neck is straight , it shows wear but it still in a very good playable condition

There is no data about the body/neck plate, I can't know if the body really belongs to the neck. It was poorly refinished and there was a bridge pickup installed

Pickup, pickguard and electrical parts are not original, pickups are Seymor duncan SPB-1

It's a collectable bass or just a nice neck ?

I doubt that it is a collectors item but the neck and tuners should have quite some value. Does the truss rod turn?

I doubt this bass would be of any interest to a collector, but if it plays well and sounds good it might be worth using as a workhorse. I hope you didn't pay a "vintage" price!

Dont know if the monetary value is different between 66 and 67 Ps, but there were much fewer 67s produced than 66s.

Fender was optomistic about sales in 66 and went all out to ramp up production.
The result was a lot of Ps in stock going into 67 and few 67s added to the overstock.

I wouldn't feel bad about owning that bass.
Since it has been routed for a J bass anyway it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to add one.

Were those the correct tuning machines for a 1967 precision? When did precisions stop using the reverse?

They look the same as the 1964 neck link above I posted so ??

The pic of the body cavity - I can’t tell if it’s a very bad routing , or if the body is plywood!

Neck appears legit, though it looks refinished and re-decaled. Body is questionable. Should have a router hump still, in '67. And it does look like ply in the control cavity. If it is a Fender body I'd guess it's not a 60's one. I'd consider it non-collectable.
