Cannot believe it, my old buddy Tony dug up these pics of me (we were a power trio in L.A.) playing my beloved eggplant-glo Ric 4001 at some whacky gig somewhere.

That Ric was SUPERB! Got ripped off by a famous person I'll not name...no proof...but I know the scumbag did it. :-(

The 70's were so awesome!!! :bassist::bassist: I'm only sorry I was just a bit too young for most of it, born in 65.

You guys clearly were not at all impacted by the punk explosion at the time, eh??

There is so much awesomeness in those photos.

Those were some major side fills they had going for you - how's your hearing. :woot:

I think I spotted a P pup in that Ricky, yes? Dimarzio maybe?

Yeah, great times. The Ric had the standard Ric pups, no mods at all. And the heavy rock scene was going strong all over in L.A. despite the Punk scene.
Hearing is fine, btw! As to my personal amps, I was playing thru two Galion-Krueger folded horn bottoms (big, heavy and LOUD) powered by Crown 500w amps and with a Furman Parametric Equalizer. Great set-up and still cry about not having it today. The folded horn bottoms are considered passe nowadays. But I'll tell you they were VERY faithful in tone delivery and the sound itself just exploded out at about 20 feet and then went clear across town it seemed. Damn! I loved them.

The guitarist was a great guy named Larry Herrera. Gawd he could wail, both vocally and on his Strat. Never knew a better whammy bar user either---just magic. The drummer (that you cannot see) was Mark Herreras. Both from Sylmar while I was living out in Simi Valley. Band called Blazze. IIRC those drums were maple Ludwigs.

The famous thief? ... well, lets say first name was Ron.

Pro Aris et Focis...that's the veritas...LOL
