Hi,
To any and all Ampeg SVT "Original" amp lovers and users!
I have played bass since 1964.
I had a 76 SVT or 77', white rocker switches in the last 70's. Sold it and i have kicked myself ever since.
I now have another one I am restoring.
The BEST place for a schematic, bar none, is kbaps.com
They have original schematics and parts lists and several other pages of Ampeg SVT papers like user manual, etc.
Not the Joe Piazza schematics...those are not good!
For a very reasonable cost you can download and print them..
What I am needing to find is a wiring diagram of the power amp. I want to really look at the wire colors or layout of an original with 6550's, well the one with 6146's is identical, circuit wise.
If anyone has theirs opened and willing to send me a color pic or email me and I will
call you, my dime and ask you what it shows in there.
I can go by the schematic but i am stumped on a couple of wire hookups.
About 2 years ago I did a cap and resistor change/mod with help from Nashville Amplifier so my wiring layout is a little different looking.
I made a mistake the other day and I really need to see or talk to someone who has one...I know I should have drawn it out but I didn't.... my bad! By the way Nashville Amplifier Service is a great bunch of folks and really know the SVT. They have what I need but I don't want to take up their time on the phone figuring this wiring out. I live in the metro OKC area in Oklahoma and would go out there, but really can't afford it right now.
If there is anything else I can help anyone with feel free to email me:"
[email protected]".
My name is Ron Thomas and I hope to hear from someone.
Thanks for reading
