1975 Gibson Grabber pup replacements

Ok, I've searched and posted about this before but I haven't really found what I'm looking for yet. The wiring for the pickup on my Grabber is going out and since the pickups are cast resin, it's kind of difficult to replace it. I want to keep things stock if I can, but I'm having a hard time finding an original Grabber pickup. Any recommendations on a more modern replacement? Thanks for any assistance.

My Grabber's pickup has been picking up a lot of acoustic noise lately (pick hitting the pickup cover, hand on the bridge cover, etc) and I was hoping to eventually be able to get it repaired. But if it is sealed up in resin it sounds like I'm out of luck as well. :(

Bill Lawrence designed the bass too! he did all those Gibsons back then, the Ripper, Grabber, G3, L6-S, S-1, Marauder, etc. he designed both the guitars and the pickups/electronics. Bill's a very talented guy!

The problem with making replacements in the shell. About the only thing that can be done is to take one of the pickups and make a rubber mold from it. Then replacements can be made that fit.

I wonder if a X2N-b would fit? :) not that I would do it . I know people have put dark stars in Grabbers.

You can fit all kinds if things on it. If you want to be neat a tidy about it, you can made a new plastic slider custom cut to fit the new pickup.

Since it is a vintage bass, it's nice to try and find something that is at least cosmetically similar.
