My local Guitar Center has a black '77 with the maple neck. Sounds fantastic.

I think the prices the older ones are going for nowadays are out of line though.
Maybe they'll come back down after the Mustang fad is over.

Squier made a Vintage Modified in black and sunburst with a maple neck awhile back,
and I’ve only seen one for sale used.
People that bought them are holding on to them.....
I can imagine... I have a medium-scale bass at home (ibanez talman something or other) and it feels really weird switching back to my Jazz after playing it.Same here dude, they're super comfy, but feels so alien when you go back to a full sized electric bass.
