1978 Fender Mustang

Cheers man, i picked her up at Chicago music exchange for around 2000 dollars, is that the usual price they're going for?

Prices are all over the board. Some from Japan are especially high.
2,000 is a bit on the high end of what I've been seeing, but that's a real nice bass you've got there.
I've seen some go for reasonable prices, considering they were student/learning basses in that era,
but those days and prices are long gone.
Instead of being somewhat put down now, they've gone to being a bit of a status item.

I like that bass a lot, but it's more than I'd be willing to pay for it.
But you know the old saying - buy once, cry once.
If it turns out to be a long term keeper for you, years from now the money will be forgotten,
but you'll still be enjoying the bass.

Sweet. Here's my three CIJ's and my '73 Musicmaster.

I dont see the prices of the japan built mustangs coming down anytime soon, They have been pricey forever! I held out for years looking for a sweet price but I finally caved a couple years ago, laying out $800. for a 1997 cij, The bass was in showroom condition and included a hard case, no regrets!
