here’s a pic with the guard off you can see the finish a little better. It cleaned up great just waiting for some new strings

in the age of the internet, I dont pity anyone who undervalues their musical instruments. The real worth is literally 1 search away. I mean, I got a 65 P (that needed a ton of work) for under $200 this year.

Neck needed a little adjustment, which it looks like someone may have tried previously at some point but didn’t have the neck off so it gouged the guard a little bit. Gave it about a half turn and it feels perfect now. One connection needed to be re-soldered, otherwise all good under the hood! This thing has a great vibe! All I can think about is how this bass is/was responsible for some of the greatest music of the last century. Funny part for me is this is my first P bass I’ve owned! Nice! I totally agree. You already know I had 3 tabs open. Reverb, ebay & straight google. The pics he sent were fuzzy so I was narrowing it down to 77-79 based on the headstock logo. He thought it was a 72

I don’t even know what church that would be tbh. I saw him post a cool vintage bass, I asked if it was for sale & he made me an offer. I look at it as a blessing more than anything cause I just gave this thing more love in one night than it’s ever had in the last 30+ years. That neck 100% was never removed since it left the factory. I get what you’re saying but that’s on dude who sold his moms bass. If my mom had a bass I would certainly never leave it outside or want to sell it.

For those feeling bad…I’ve taken a significant loss on a few basses and amps that I’ve sold. The buyers took advantage of me in my weakness (GAS for other things). Can I get some sympathy? Yes, they made an offer and I accepted but I really should have gotten more money. I need that money so I can buy more crap.

Is there any difference between the OP story and mine? A deal was made and both sides agreed. It’s a bass…come on. The guilt trip stuff is pretty over the top.
