i changed out the original strap pins for Schaller locks ,
installed a brand new 9v. battery , and slapped on a new set of Chromes just for fun ...:p

this bass arrived in very good condition .
a very good condition G&L case was included ...
there are a very few minor finish checks around the neck pocket ...
also a screw for the battery compartment was stripped out .
an easy fix ...

i took her out to a gig last night { Saturday night } and was
expecting to use her for just a few tunes ...
wow , was i wrong ...
this bass dominated , and cut thru a heavy bass drum mix with real clarity .
the band and the crowd loved it .
many positive comments after the show .

Congrats! She's a beauty.
I used to have a L-1000 and always wondered what the L-2000 was like.
imo , the L2000 may not be for everyone .
it's not exactly a "plug in and play " type bass , as compared to a P-Bass .

... don't misunderstand , there are no wrong sounds coming from an L2000 ,
you just have to try out the different settings to find what works best for you ...

lots of tone options { maybe too many ...:ninja:}
which might take some time to learn and be familiar with .
again , just my opinion ...

even so , it's gonna put my favorite P-Bass into second rotation for a while ...
:D

Those MFD pups cut like a hot knife through butter. Once you dial in the sound you want it just sits there in the mix like an elephant with a bad leg. Great sounding basses.

I've had several early 2k's. I pretty much use the single coil mode all the time. The dual parallel is pretty overwhelming.
Even though the treble and bass are "cut only passive," I tend to think of them as active with flat in then center.

Nice example of G&L's best there.
