Curious...where is that store?

Player's Music in Worth Illinois.
Not a huge store, but they do fantastic work at very reasonable prices and almost all the instruments in their shop are used. No website, but their facebook page is here:

I liked the sound when I played it and it seemed solid, but I really need a wider p-style neck and the Foundation is definitely a J-style neck.

Speaking of rare Foundation finishes, did anyone see this oddball on ebay several months ago? It's not Rose Pink, it's something else. Never seen this finish on any Peavey before.

My buddy made it quite clear his Harley was salmon. Guess a pretty pink fish was more manly than the color pink.

To add to this thread, the local high school got me hooked on Foundations when I volunteered to fix theirs(make it playable and fun instead of a PITA). It took a Stew Mac truss rod spacer and putting the neck in a clamp for a few days to get the neck right. It's an early 80's in metallic blue-green. A red 80's one and white 90's one came here for good later that year. I did tell the school I'd buy theirs if they ever want to sell it.

There was also debate on one thread about 80's vs 90's pickups. Peavey told me they are the same, they meter to be essentially the same, and appeared the same when taken out and visually inspected.

Not to derail too much, but how common were cloverleaf tuners on Foundations? My '91 has Y-keys (might be unbadged Grover titans?) whose posts look identical to those listed here.

The "Y" keys......could they have possibly borrowed some from the Dyna Bass production line?
There's a Dyna Bass here that is almost like a Foundation with active tone added and "Y" tuners.

I have a 1987 and a 1988 Foundation S (the PJ version) both have the Y keys. Both have pickup swaps, one with Duncan passives the other has Bartolinis and a preamp, great basses!

Though I ultimately let mine go, it would cover P-J-Ric territory very convincingly. I could get a sound like that video or Chris Squire splash and clank very easily from that bass.

You are so right. The only thing I don't like about old Peaveys is the neck tilt adjustment, which can be a b***h if it gets out of whack.

I assume you guys are talking about the "elephant ear" tuners that are similar to Schaler M4S or Grover Titans?

I also rebuilt a Foundation S for a fellow and it had the elephant ear tuners that were similar to the ones seen on the T-40 except black.

I never thought of them as Y keys before as "Y keys" is what we call the slim Gotoh style that every other bass seems to have these days. I think "elephant ears" is the term that folks use for them.
