Does a 1986 Warwick Steamer Stage 1 with EMG´s , have a push/pull pot to switch between active and passive pu´s ? The Warwick Owners manual says so , but I wonder if they might be referring to newer models. The one I have does not seem to have a push /pull pot. Or is it just stuck ?
Had it about a month now - Today Its clean up day , with washing, waxing , fret poliishing, new strings and fine adjustment. Love it. Thanks !

  2. If it has “real” EMG’s the pickups require a battery and can not be switched to passive. If it has a preamp, that could be bypassed but the pickups would still need a battery.

A quick look in the control cavity would confirm if you have push pull pots. For what it’s worth, I have seen push pulls stop switching correctly when moved but never had one stick and not be able to be moved so, odds are, if none of the pots move, you probably don’t have any push pulls.

Thanks Matt. I suspect that they are the original pickups and it does have a 9v battery. I have not had the back cover off, but I´ll take a look inside. Other than that the pot(s) look solid and work , so probably no push /pull then
