1992 pricing

Where would I be able find what a 1992 Made in Mexico Fender jazz and a 1992 Ibanez SR 800 cost new at the time?

I dont have a 92 fender price list but i have a 97. It says 439.99
A 92 sr800 was 699.95
These are dealer price lists. It doesnt mean thats what the consumer paid.
For example, the price list on an ibanez trb1 in 1993 was 449.95. I paid 280ish new from the store.

Also if it helps, the price list says a 94 sr1200 is 1099.95.

The 90's would be fun to revisit. I was a kid back then. I remember things were cheaper, music was better. People looked more normal for the most part. Cell phones and technology hadn't taken over everything completely yet but there was enough to make things easier and faster when you needed it.

Yeah but that was probably monthly take home pay for many in 78'.Minimum wage was 2.65 an hour. It's probably the same price with inflation.

I had a 92 MIM Precision (wish I still had it) and remembered I paid $199 for it. I'm 99% sure that it was new and not a used price. I only remember because I saved $150 of my summer allowance money specifically to buy it, and my mom paid the extra $50 plus tax for it.

I randomly have a 1992 bass player magazine buyers guide. Standard jazz was 399.99. SR800 was 799.95.
I seem to recall a music store telling me to expect to typically pay 70% of msrp??

I grew up not far from EBMM factory (I used to take bike frames to powdercoat shop next door to them). Yup, the local stores would often have new basses at 689-729 for a 4 string. There was one store in SLO at the end of the same street as the facrory.
Those were the days!

excellent digging on the pricing. I found these pics online from'93. There's a few cool ones here. I like those trb basses. I'll take that over the current talman line any day. Budget basses but they look pretty classy.
