Saw one of these around in serial no. "P", anyone know how they are like?

Are these as good as the JV and the SQ?

Seller asking for $200 +, a bit on the steep side?

These are called the Silver Series. The last of the Fender Japan Squier. They are not as collectible as the JV but definitely solidly built bass. Check my signature, I put there in my blog a JV and Silver Series Squier. YOu can compaer them. For $200, as long as its in good condition, I'll take it.

Is there another series in that period's lineup? cos the one I saw does not say "Silver Series" on the headstock, normal, still a Silver series?

The photo you showed is a genuine Silver series Squier , Probably, it was removed by the previous owner.

Compare it to my Silver Series headstock.
