1996 Precision P Bass MIM 1957 Reissue?

From the best of my research this looks to be a 50th anniversary of the 1957 P Bass. The original was made in USA and this one happens to be made in Mexico. Serial #: MN513066...0 M- Stands for Mexico N stands for 1990's n 5 stands for 1995-1996. The Neck Logo is silver just like the America made one and has same tone color.

I do not really know much about guitars, because I bought this from my brother for little to nothing and am looking to sell.

It also has EMG-X pickups and I was also wondering how much would it be worth and if I am right on the model? It has a modified pick guard, so the whole pick guard is trash. There is a couple of light scratches and a small nick on the top of the head stock.

Here are some pictures of it.

I see the pics, looks like a plain-jane MIM Standard Precision (of course with a modded pickguard and EMG's).

Are you sure about that?

Well it looks like it, but I have not seen any pictures that actually matches this one. This is the closest that I have come to it. I found the pictures at

The only difference I have seen is the fretboard. The body style looks the same to me, except that one says it is made in the USA and not MIM.

There was no such bass in 1995, 96 or 97. That's a 1995 MIM P Bass. And that 50th anniversary sticker? It was on every non-Squire Fender instrument in 1996.
Alright, since it has no sticker I think we can call it safely as a 1995 MIM P Bass that happens to be sunburnt.

P-basses all look the same. Your bass and the one you linked to both happened to be sunburst.
Yeah no kidding took me forever just to figure out that it was made either in 1995 or 1996 because of all the different model makes or brands just blend in with each other.

The only problem that I found was the color of the fender label on the headstock which happens to be silver, and not black which threw me off even more.

I'm aware. Just saying that many people won't see it as an upgrade or if they do its still on an old MIM.

And besides its a 15 year old MIM P-bass. Older MIM basses aren't known to be great sellers either, and many hold that they aren't that great either. I don't have an opinion on them either way, just going by what I've heard.
