Like the above, you have tone issues. Try adjusting you bass setup to fit your playing better.

Agreed. Most people don't care how you sound as long as you move. Besides, live music is half visual, half music as I've found. There'd be no point in going to see a band live if it was exactly the same as the CD. You get to watch the band put everything they've got into whatever they're playing, whether it be Marry had a Little Lamb, or Creep. I think it was good overall, just tune. =)

For a first gig, I think you did awesome!

Since the it was recorded with an amateur video, you can't really tell too much about the tone. I am not an expert with my ears, but I can't really tell if you're out of tune.

You tend to dig down hard when you play, but there's nothing wrong with that if that's your style.

All in all I thought you did better than most on their first gig. Were there any cute chicks digging you guys?

I think that might have been the bass drum sound.

The biggest thing was the tuning. Make sure the bass and guitar are both tuned up before playing. Also, for that particular song, the guitar player might want to kick in some distortion for the chorus.

Overall, I think it was quite good. Sure there were a few notes out here and there, but you guys look pretty relaxed and are off to a good start.

Overall pretty good. Nice job man. Nice positioning of the cam next to the bass amp! Can hear you pretty good. Hard to tell on the tone with a cam recorder.

I think the stoic bass playing worked with the rest of the band and for the song.

Your singer can make lots and lots of money in a Ramones tribute band.

Pretty good for a first gig. BUY TUNERS AND USE THEM!!!!! It's not a difficult thing to learn to do competently and your band will sound 10,000 tighter and better. You'll enjoy it more too. BUY THEM!!!! USE THEM!!!!! If you already have them, then LEARN TO USE THEM!!!! ALL THE TIME!!!! TUNERS!!!! YOU CAN GET THEM FOR $20.

That was a lot better than my first gig (in 1977). Good job. Here are some suggestions:

1. The singer would look fine if he grew a soul patch and wore dark glasses.

2. Don't move around so much. It's your job to stand there and groove.

3. Have the camera move more toward the center of the band so the bass doesn't dominate the mix.

4. Oh yeah. +1 on buy a tuner.
