1x15 Recommendations

I want a cab that will cut through at practice, and be able to use at small gigs. I already have a GK 410 (using a GK700RB), I am thinking that a 1x15 is a better way to go than 2x10 or
2x12.

I have been looking at primarily three, (prices in Australian Dollars).
Ampeg SVT15E $1025
Eden D115 XLT $1185
Orange OBC115 $2,000 New (but have spotted a 2nd hand one for $700,but Im guessing its been well used).

Any recommendations about these three or other brands I should consider? Playing rock and electronic (we have a synth). I want something to use alone so I don't have to cart the 410 around all the time, so I need one with good range of mids and highs as well.

I'm intrigued by the Orange...but once again I'm definitely a lo-fi tone lover.

For those who vote for the Orange OBC 115, if I buy the second hand one for AU$700, what could possibly be wrong with it. Im assuming that it has seen a fair bit of work because they are normally around AU$2,000. And if something breaks down, is it easily fixable?

I'd say Orange too. Just got mine a couple of days ago and its the best cab I've ever heard (I'm an old-school tone addict too).

And I'd guess that low price may also have something to do with global inflation and the ever divergent currency standards. It may not have much wrong with it, it just may have cost a whole lot less back when it was new. Or it just may be beat-up after all.

Aguilar GS115 is a good 1x15" & can get 'em new for about $700AUS as are discontinued- finding one- thats another matter.I got mine thru Dominant Music- U could contact 'em & see if they've any left
AFAIK the Orange cab has a EV spkr in it??? Yay/nay?? Seems VERY somilar to the OLD EV TL 1x15"cabs which sound great & can be bought for a song off Oz ebay now

You also might try raising your 4x10 about 3 feet of the ground at practice.

If you're having trouble cutting through, is a 15" they way to go?
Why not add a 2x12 on top of your 4x10?

That will get it up to ear level and give great tonal range combined with the 4x10.

I have an Eden D115 (no T, no XLT, just an old single 15" D115) that I absolutely love. It is not only my favorite of the half dozen speaker cabinets I own (most of which are also 1x15"), but it is my favorite 1x15" of any that I've ever played through in my life. It's fat & solid in the bottom, but clean & articulate without being too beamy in the top end. Sounds great for rock, jazz, funk, anything I've every had to play through it. It's also surprisingly lightweight, so it's easy to transport. (I suspect this would not be the case with an XLT, but hey, you can't have everything.)

I would love to get at least one more...if not three more!

If you can find a used Mesa Diesel 115, they're very nice.
Based on the same Electro Voice TL606 design as the Orange.

As there's no tweeter or horn, there's really nothing to go wrong except destroying the driver.
Any reputable speaker shop should be able to re-cone one.
