2 basses into one box . . . HELP!

Sorry for the vagueness guys! Thanks for the responses.

OK - here's the deal. I'm going from passive (usually) Fender and Lakland basses into a super cheesy Behringer board ($50ish) into the front of a Peavey Megabass that feeds an Eden 210XST. The Megabass, despite being endorsed by Kip Winger, sounds great to me! When I plug straight into the amp, it's happenin'. When I go into the line ins on my cheesy mixer, it's not. All the robustness is GONE and the high end is robbed.

So I know the problem is the cheap mixer. Obviously, I could buy 2 DI boxes and run them into the XLR ins of the mixer. But is there another way that would get the Behringer out of the picture for good?! I don't really feel like investing in a serious mixing board for this application. I just need a two channel box (splitter?) with individual level controls.

The Radial Bassbone is a thought. Are there any other ideas for this application?

Thanks again,

Ian

This is the mixer I have. It is way more than you need, but it is $280, and to me, for that kinda money, it's bound to come in handy for other things. If that is still more than you want to spend, just look a bit further down the price scale and you can find Yamahas that only cost $180.

I think the Radial Bassbone is the answer:cool:

The Raven Labs stuff is pretty great. I have their headphone practice amp. But I'm teaching quite a bit and I'm not excited by the dual 9V thing without the option for AC.

I think I'll give the Boss LS-2 a shot. I had a Radial for about a month and actually, I felt that with passive basses, it wasn't the best match. I'd always just unplug from it and go straight into my amp and say . . . "now THERE we go!"

So it's the LS-2 for me. Do any of you guys have experience with this pedal? Think it'll do the trick with minimal tonal interference?

Thanks again,

Ian
