2 volume 2 tone

Hi, do you mean those concentric pots where the volume for each pickup has underneath it a dedicated tone control too?

In my experience there isn't any real value -apart from having another tone knob to accidentally knock out of position when turning the volume control!

In fact, two volumes is also a pain if (like me) you want to turn the overall level of your bass down or even to zero in between songs. Now you have two volume controls to juggle in order to perform the same job as one.

For this reason I wire my Jazzes: Volume, Pan, master Tone.

Passive circuits are very interdependant, so if you have a mix of both pickups, rolling off a passive tone control wired to the front or rear pickup doesn't really sound much different (IMHO).

Unless you are looking at filling 4 holes already drilled in a Jazz bass or control panel, I don't think there's really much need (personally).
