Realistically, here is what "Michael Peckerar" needs to stop doing, judging what other people like to do/wear... The whole high school phase of "OMG, like, look at what he is wearing!" - this writer is clearly not over it...

This is rubbish...

At 19, shortly after leaving high-school and getting into university, I realized that High School never really ends. People are just judgmental dorks - do what makes you happy, let them do what makes them happy, which can include judging. Now, at almost 24, if somebody wants to say they don't like my habits and choices to my face, I'll certainly listen and consider their points, maybe they've got a point about something.

I was surprised not to see anything on earlobe saucers, fruit loop dyed hair or Pakistani beards. The flat-brimmed and knit hats were right on though - ha!

Yes. If it's a cold day a knit cap is a reasonable choice to keep warm. But when it's over 60 degrees? Keep your Cult of Michael Nesmith headwear at home.

After I popped off about knit hats and hoods I realized that some people are wearing these hats any old time, which is ridiculous. And that hoods on hoodies are better than hoods on parkas, as far as obscuring your peripheral vision. I live in the suburbs now. I drive everywhere. The Smartwool hat stays on when it's cold out. I'm talking less than 40 and windy, or colder.

By the way older guys, the only thing sadder than shorts, a backwards beanie hat, or a hawiian print shirt on stage is a black T-shirt from ANY amp or guitar manufacturer. Might as well wear a Braided leather belt and pleated khaki pants.

Michael Nesmith is cool though. To me, at least. And I'm cool, so if I think he is cool, he must be.

Not a fan unless you are living in the 1940s or 1950s. I didn't read the article the OP posted...couldn't get it to load on my phone.

I don't care what others do and don't judge others for doing things I don't do or for doing things differently from me.

But I never wear sandals and never wear shorts in public.

Only hats I'll wear are plain ball caps if my hair is messed up and maybe a knit cap when it's freezing.

I've told my wife if I ever become one of those pasty white dudes wearing cargo shorts, a Hawaiian shirt, shades and a fedora playing bad blues, to just shoot me. Shoot me right in the face.
