2011 NFL Preseason/ The Beginning

Chase Daniel performed above anyone's expectations this preseason, Ramsey looked very good, bet he catches on somewhere pretty quickly. Saints had an embarrassment of riches at QB this year, someone had to lose - Payton chose the future over the past.

In that same vein, I think Steven McGee did exceptionally well in the Miami game. If I were to cut a QB at Dallas, my vote would go to Kitna.

:D

God Bless, Ray

That's fine, and probably true. I just got a chuckle when I saw the news as it reminded me of your posts about how great Ramsey was and would be in NOLA and how he could lead the Saints to the SB.

Agreed, I was being Mr. Homer there. ;)

However, Ramsey did look pretty good, just that it was basically a tie performance-wise with Chase Daniel, and the team decided it was better to keep developing the younger player than relying on the guy that's not going to develop much more.

I still say Ramsey will catch on SOMEWHERE, he's a better choice than quite a few #2's out there right now (Brunell w/NYJ, etc).

So it begins. Some big names hitting the unemployment line today....Leinart and Houshmandzadeh so far.

I got some problems with a couple of the Steeler moves. Letting Hartwig go on a line that already is shaky is not a good move in my opinion. Keeping Lewis over Burnett? That one will come back to haunt us. Urbik...really? Come on Colbert.

Leinart got cut? Evidence?

I think by week 5 you'll be fine, Ben is a hell of a quarterback when it comes to avoiding sacks and taking hits. Those first 4 weeks will be tough though, they should start Dixon, he can make it out of the pocket.

There are always head-scratchers on final cut day in the NFL....

However, usually, once you look back at it, it makes sense.

Hartwig though....hmm...Pouncey was a beast in preseason (the one real bright spot for the Steelers, from what I saw), but Hartwig is far from finished...he'll land a gig quickly, I should think.

Not a lot of head scratchers from Champion-Land, and a personal favorite made the cut, Stanley Arnoux. I watched this kid play college ball at Wake Forest, he's got a lot of potential, and with Casillias on IR, he's going to have a chance to show if it amounts to anything, apparently.

Is it Thursday night yet?!?!?!?! :hyper:
