2011 NFL Preseason/ The Beginning

So what if they have reality shows? What's that have to do with how good they are on the field? Get your blinders off and see it for it really is. You're spoon-fed the drama via ESPN and the news and sheepishly eat it up so you can feel better about yourself/your own team/the world/etc. The REALITY of it is that they are still great athletes, they're still two of the best in the league, and they're not only saying all the right things but doing all the right things to help this team.

Anyone can like a team that's doing well but it's a test of character to stand by a team that was so bad for so long.

Calm down sport. Maybe I'll be wrong this season, but past history tells me both of these jokers will cause some problems at some point.

Since you are claiming to be a long time Cincy fan, I am actually surprised you are acting like there are no issues with Chad Johnson. Maybe you just don't know about TO, and I can understand that.

I don't need ESPN or sports in general to make me feel better about myself or the world. Now excuse me, it is time for lunch, and SportsCenter is about to start. :D

Officially, on record 137?

I found this comment on Wikipedia in an article about Qwest Field, where the Seahawks play....

"In preparation for 2005–06 NFC Championship Game at Qwest Field, the Carolina Panthers practiced with the recorded sounds of jet engines in the background. The Fox Sports telecast producers measured the crowd noise level at a peak of 137 dB during Seattle's 34–14 win".

I was at the game, so I did not see the broadcast. I am assuming they showed someone holding a volume meter and watched the number climb as the fans cheered on a Carolina third down or something like that.

Point conceded.

However, the Dome still wins, because they'll be hanging a CHAMPIONSHIP BANNER there 9/9/10!

:)

Yeah, I hear ya. The Dome is frickin' loud.

Even though I am no Seattle fan, I still stick up for them about crowd noise. These people up here are psychos when it comes to being loud in a football stadium.

+1

I hear it is insanely loud there, which is interesting b/c the team is usually a disappointment and basically invisible to the rest of the country due to location. Seems like a cool place to play and be a fan.

I guess the weather is similar to New England and I know we fans have to be ready for foul weather, which sometimes creates a strong bond with other fans, etc...

What do most of you football dudes think of the increased schedule? Not sure we need it in my opinion.

It's stupid.

Mebbe just MAYBE the 'Dome'll beat 137db during the Banner raisin' :ninja:

And to the lengthened schedule, I see two things;

#1 I'd rather the games count than to see somebody take an injury in a game that don't mean squat.

#2 Politically I see this as nothing more than the leagues ability to say X players record has been broken by Y player therefore garnering more attention and $.

That's all I have to say about that :ninja:

:D

God Bless, Ray

I disapprove of the schedule, and I would be willing to bet most fans feel the same way (at least everyone I know disapproves).

Sam Bradford will get sacked at least 3-4 times tonight and will throw 2 pics, unless he gats yanked before then.

I don't really see any good coming out of the new schedule...16 games was plenty for just about everybody, as far as I know.
All I can see on the horizon is players stomping their feet about getting beat up or injured, more holdouts (more games=more money, right?), the owners not necessarily seeing it that way, more public contract disputes, owners eventually giving in to the demands for more money, and of course....higher ticket prices! Of course

Looks like my boy Pouncey is going to start over Hartwig on Saturday. While I am happy to see him doing so well, it may spell the end of Hartwigs time with the Steelers. Hartwig only plays center, but Pouncey can play a couple spots. I don't like the idea of dumping Hartwig. Let Pouncey play RT or something.
