Hello Fellow TBer's
Question for those of you more educated than I. I'm a pure hobbyist whose budget is larger than my talent, but I like nice things and usually buy one level up. Over the last year I have grown to appreciate higher priced instruments. Like all things, some are not worth the price (to me), and hence lies my question. have come to like the Fender P Bass sound and have picked up a couple (see pictures). Have only bought new, mostly USA/MIA, but recently picked up the 2012 Fender Select Precision Bass. Found many great reviews and a few for sell here and there from $1200 - $1600. I paid $1300 all in, but must say I did not really hear any major tonal differences over my existing lineup:
2015 Fender Deluxe American Jazz bass Black/Maple
2015 Fender Deluxe PJ Bass 3-Tone Sunburst/Maple
2015 Fender USA Nitro Satin Series Precision Bass Honeyburst/Maple
I have 30 days to return to Guitar Center and wonder if I should just keep it as a collectors item or return it, play what i have and put the $1300 elsewhere musically? Are the Posiflex graphite truss rods, compound radius fretboards, Fender Select split-single-coil Precision Bass pickups (whatever that means) and Vintage-style Fender/Hipshot tuners so special that I should just keep it...especially considering it sold new for $2300?
