I'm loving the extra laminates in the neck and I also wasn't expecting such nice flame in the Purpleheart!
This is some of the nicest Mahogany I've ever seen. There is some nice flame figuring and tons of chatoyance.

Now I have it in my lap for the first time. The neck is wide for sure. It's also a little beefier front-to-back than I expected but still very comfy. The top figure is so alive.
The action is L O W. I can still dig in quite a lot before it starts to buzz. Thanks Plek. Unreal sustain on every note. The signature Roscoe low end is there in spades and even tighter than usual due to the reverse slant. I don't have any regrets going with 34" scale. This is an incredible instrument!

Thanks! Yes, I ordered 19mm at the bridge. It's a little intense up past the 12th fret but I'm getting used to it. There is room at the bridge to bring it to his normal 18.3mm spacing but I'm enjoying the space for now!
One thing I've noticed is that because of the reverse-slanted pickups the blend control reacts slightly differently from what I'm used to with straight pickups. As you go towards the bridge pickup you definitely get sharper more burpy tones but it's still very controlled and warm on the high strings. As you favor the neck pickup the high strings get round and syrupy sweet and the low end loosens up a little. It's a more subtle contrast between the two but I'm loving it! I always found the high strings a bit too sharp with the pickups straight or regular-slanted so I'm happy to find that this is exactly what I was wanting.
Good call on that pickup configuration. It really tightens up the lows and sweetens the highs. I have the pickups that way on my headless Roscoe 5, and two of my other all-time favorite basses, the USA Reverend Rumblefish and Warwick Thumb 5, also did it this way. Good stuff! Glad you're digging your new bass. 19mm spacing on a 6, that's gutsy.
Thanks Dave. I like a little breathing room and it is taking a little getting used to on this bass. I am actually measuring 18.5mm at the bridge so it's not far from the Roscoe standard 18.3mm. Can anyone provide the neck width measurement of their standard LG6 at 12 and 24? I'm curious how much wider this neck is.

I can try to throw something together tomorrow. The missus and I have a full day tomorrow but I should have time in the evening.
Needless to say the last few weeks have been mayhem. Day-to-day work was already normally quite busy plus my wife and I have been looking for our first house. Then the outbreak hit the States and well you know the rest.
I hope you all have been well! Here is a quick little take I did on a Scott Kinsey tune called The Harvest off his album We Speak Luniwaz. This track features Jimmy Haslip with his Roscoe, the very bass that inspired this build.
In the beginning you will hear Jimmy enter then I will echo. I mixed myself slightly higher throughout the track. Enjoy!

Thanks Joe! I'd been listening to this album recently and it seemed like an appropriate track to demo with. All of my current original projects are still in the mixing phase so I can't release any snippets of them yet. Stay well!
