2024 Bass Acquisition Round Up

This was built by an online acquaintance. Reclaimed linden body, maple neck, ebony fb. It did lack tort originally, but I managed to fix that, plus changed the bridge to a Gotoh 404.

I thought I was gonna make it the whole year without a new bass acquisition, but then the missus had to go and stick this under the tree…

it's been a hectic year of buying and selling for me.

without a doubt, the most important gear for 2024 is my spector NS pulse.

other bass purchases this year include the spector performer 4, black squier mini precision, used mikro 5 (probably to convert to a 6 string piccolo), and the california blue sonic bronco that will end up with either a duncan MM humbucker or a pair of tbird pickups (this one is currently being exchanged for another of the same due to bad neck pocket). there was also the CME shell pink bronco, which i recently sold.

I think 2024 was personally a pretty good year for new basses (especially when I started the year in a downsize mode).
New acquisitions include:
Fender 75th Anniversary Commemorative Jazz Bass

Fender American Performer Satin Lake Placid Blue

Fender FSR 70's Precision Bass

Fender FSR 2011 60th Anniversary Precision BassĀ® for GC

Gibson Les Paul Money Bass (which I just picked up yesterday)

Yamaha BB-1200 Natural

Fender American Pro II Precision Bass

Rickenbacker 4001 1976. Long story with this one. I was finally able to convince my friend to trade with me. He gets to use (have) any of my other basses for his use. His choice. I've had a couple experts look at it and they believe it to be factory original special order.

The most significant purchase however were lightweight cabinets.
Mesa Subway 1X15 Cabinet
Mesa Subway 2X10 Cabinet

Maybe I'll really be able to start downsizing in 2025 ;-)
