2024 Maybe a new begining

Well its a new year and I am kind of getting over my performance apathy of the past. I even replied to a CL band listing. Doing fairly well at home with my singing even with the seasonal allergies. So who knows. You guys know how hard it can be to 1. Find like musicians 2. Hopefull close by and have similiar schedules and visions 3. Get in a room and progress to something presentable and 4. Book venues (I would love to be completley left out of this thankless task) and get your equipment and everyone there and play.
Bands can be a lot of fun. They can also be a big time commitment and work. As Utred says in The last kingdom “Wyrd bid ful araed” -Destiny is all.

Keep the faith bro...

I went to see a friends band a few months ago to see if they might be willing to help out with a one night community gig I had scheduled (since COVID most of my regulars had other gigs that night). My buddy is the drummer and he called me the night before saying their bass player just quit, could I bring an amp and a bass. So, I was going to audition "them" and ended up joining the band and playing their next gig. It's been a lot of fun so far... got a few gigs on the schedule for 2024.

You just never know... Just like dating, when you quit looking something nice shows up.

Cheers...

At this point, I'd consider moving to Austin to join a band that played that stuff. Good luck to you!

Ok I lied - I'd never move to Texas - but still, good luck to you!

Well nice guys. level is in the garage band -Dad band range. They actually had a drummer that was auditioning before me that stayed for my stuff. He was pretty good -didnt rehearse any of my songs but winged it for most part. I did pretty good and it was all alright. They recorded this session and sent me the links. ( remember when listening i am the singer) I will add one here. Not sure what happened in that middle part. I dont think the drummer knew that one well LOL.
They were saying they expect to play out 3 times a month. I would be exceedingly surprised if they made that goal. We never achieved that in my old band and we were a level higher than these guys. I have not heard back from anyone and on the fence about taking the position if offered. Thanks for reading and seding well wishes!

3 gigs a month is pretty easy to achieve if people are proactively seeking gigs in a decent music scene and you hold up to the standard of bands in that area.
Maybe use it as a stepping stone to other things.
The hardest part about getting offers to play is if people don't know you are available or dare not ask.

That sounds pretty good. All you guys need is 30 more songs and someone to book the band. I think if it was me I would take the gig. Best of luck!
