After reading these comments, I’m inspired to have things tightened up a bit. I’m going to make an appointment and get some advice/estimates.
Topic adjacent, I’ve been thinking about installing a magnetic pup.
Most of my gigs are either fancy wallpaper / background cocktail jazz where we’re: “too loud already” so my amp is just there for a little bumpity bump … or community “concert” type events like outdoor shows that are generally difficult to amplify: “hey can you turn up some more?”
I’ve been thinking of freeing myself from the piezo thwackery for some time. I’ve had good luck with the Fishman Full circle for quite some time, but I’d love a nice new bridge that I can actually adjust seasonally and situationally without gumming up the fragile balance of the pickup tone sweet spot. (As a precaution I’d likely have the new adjusters match one of the existing full circle thread sizes in case I want / need to try another in the future).
That said, the new Krivo mag pup pole pieces are set at 3/4”. According to my rough measurements, I’d need the strings around 1” at the bridge to accommodate that width at the end of the fingerboard board.
