210 Cab, a Simple Choice...

Looking at a 210, between a Peavey 210TX and a Trace Elliot 2013H. I think the horn is gone from the Trace, fine.
Which would you pick?

I had lots of Peavey stuff before, they always worked out great.
Never had any TE stuff.

But then you have and ELF amp and other TE products.
Come to think about, if I had an ELF head, I would want the TE cab.
Matching equipment.

Tough call.

I have an AH250SMX also, and it occurs that a pair of the 2013s would be a nice on-end vertical stack.
Sometimes I think I should sell all but the 370 and 2 cabs, but I'm also a carpenter, and you don't go selling your tools because you need money...

Peavey's are sleepers. Well made and sound good and don't cost a lot. Best bang for the buck.

I have 2 410 tx. used them since 95. great cabs. I bypassed the crossover. The crossover in these are different and dont allow a lot of mids and highs to the drivers. If you delete it it runs full range to drivers. I have never had a problem with either of the cabs and I toured with them for years and played very loud punk with them.

As a cat owner, I love metal grilles. (But as a cat owner I also try to avoid rat fur.)

I’m partial to Peavey even though I haven’t played through either 2x10. One consideration: I think the Peavey 210TX was exclusively 4 ohms, so assuming the original 10’s are in there, this could be a plus or minus for the amp you intend to use, and a consideration if you want to add a cab in the future.

The Peavey TX series was a underrated model line. I thought they sounded great, and I did use the tweeter a little. On the heavy side compared to what's out there now, but if deals can be had they're worth it.

Trace is nice too, but I'd want a functioning tweeter/crossover in a used purchase.
