Not sure if you mean the tweeter has been removed or if it isn't functioning, but I'd be wary of buying equipment with parts missing/not working. Even if you don't care about the tweeter specifically, just the fact that someone's been in there removing things and/or has misused the cab enough to break part of it drastically increases the chances that something else is wrong or will soon be wrong.

I had lots of Peavey stuff before, they always worked out great.
Never had any TE stuff.

But then you have and ELF amp and other TE products.
Come to think about, if I had an ELF head, I would want the TE cab.
Matching equipment.

Tough call.

Trace Elliot stuff can be real, real nice, but Peavey stuff is rock solid. Nobody ever regretting buying Peavey gear and never felt they overpaid.

I'd go with the Peavey. It'll do ya.

Fairly recent corporate development and not the case during Trace's halcyon days in the bass world. It doesn't mean that the current production Trace cab is structurally or sonically interchangeable with the Peavey TXes either.

Well Peavey bought them 15 years ago or so, but yeah they are not the same as the 90's Trace stuff.

And blown tweeters? It is easier to replace a tweeter diaphragm (assuming a standard tweeter and parts available - research) then it is a faucet washer or toilet fill valve.

Had no idea! I only recently started seeing Trace stuff again, like, 3 to 4 years ago. First time I saw the Elf and the pedal preamp and all that was in fact at a Peavey booth at the Texas Steel Guitar Jamboree and I had not really seen any Trace stuff anywhere since maybe 2000. Shortly thereafter I started seeing them *everywhere* in the local stores. I figured Peavey had *just* bought them or the name and revived the lineup.

Agreed also that the new Trace stuff does seem really different from the old Trace stuff, but that's from pretty limited experience (a couple old Trace cabs mostly, never had one of their older heads).

I have a Peavey 210 TX, with Eminence Delta Pro 10 speakers (350 W RMS), which I only put in because I'm using an Ampeg SVT Pro 3 that is, I think, 450 RMS into 4 ohms. I love this cabinet. I will never sell it.
