210's or 212's?

I currently have an Ampeg SVT 410HLF cab, and it's overkill for the things I'm doing with music these days. Therefore, I thought it would be a good idea to get two smaller 8 ohm cabs, combining them when needed. This would give me more flexibility and portability.

So my question is: Should I get two 212's, or two 210's? Also, if you have recommendations as far as brands go, I'd love to hear them. If this is a bad idea, please let me know why.

I favor the 212 cab although I do have an Ampeg 410HLF . I have the MarkBass 212 which is rated 800 watts. There are other cabs as well that might be better suited for your needs.

I have an ashdown mag 210 and I find it to be a great sounding cab! I would recommend looking into them

I really like my GK Neo 212. I'd like to have a pair of them, in fact, but right now the one I have sits atop a 410.

If you have a 410 now then a 2x12 isn't exactly going to be a big step down in size.

I think a comparison with 2-1x12's vs 2- 2x10's would make more sense.

Either way I would just try some out and see what fits your needs.

I have 2 ...2x12's best thing I ever did...stacked vertical...No problem hearing.

I have an ampeg classic 112 paired with a Little Mark III and it's as much power as i would ever need... MIGHT double the cabinet at somepoint but probably wont need to.
