So... what is it with these Bridges actually?

Apart from beeing really bloody big I can't see anything too special on these. The sheer mass will of course act as a nice sustainer...

The individual tonal fingers provide for better sustain and note definition.

The 2TEK installation on my Peavey GV has begun. I have disassembled the bass, established the center and intonation lines, placed the top template and drilled the holes through the body for back template alignment. Next I will start routing the top with the help of my bass playing/building new next door neighbor.

I got them with one of the bridges I got offa eBay. I guess they were included when you bought a bridge from 2TEK without having them install it.

I have one on a 4-string with a Moses neck and EMG-PJs and LOVE IT!!!

I have one of these bridges that 2Tek installed on my 1985 Fender Jazz when the bridge first came out. It sounds good but it adds a lot of weight to the bass. 2Tek has started up again and they have a new version of the bass bridge that is supposed to weigh a lot less, but who knows if it sounds as good.
