2x10 cabinet, 8 Ohms - DIY?

my 15 beams the highs and high mids so if you have the cone on the same height as your ears and are in front of the cab it sounds pretty good but if you're standing like 7y10 feet in front of the cab and it's standing on the floor it totally lacks highs and mids.

or should I even consider to go a totally different route (2 112's or something like that?)?

I want a portable rig that has a lot of mid punch, doesn't weigh more than 40 lbs per cabinet and stacks at least 4 ft tall so I can hear it well.

Actually a 115 beams less than side by side 10's. So you may not be gaining anything by adding a 210.

Per looking at a pair of 210's or 112's, it really comes down to what you want to spend and design. There are lots of good options, but you may be happier for less money buying something.

If you are looking to build from the ground up, instead of restuffing your current box, that changes a lot.

I am willing to build from the ground up.... I'd consider a pair of fearfuls but I don't have the $$$$ for such a project. That's why I considered a 210 and later a second one. a pair of 12's with S2012 basslites could be do-able, too.

My suggestion would be to try and make that 15 work, save up enough money, and build/buy something where you don't have to make compromises and spend more money in the end. For example, tilt the cab and direct it to where you are playing - as mentioned before. You don't have to put the head on the cab if you're afraid it'll fall off.

the 15 is plenty loud. a top box with an Alpha midgt be an idea. th midrange speakers don't beam that much, right?

I also thought about beam blockers. I might try that first. I'll stop at a "handywork shop" and look if I can get a 3-4" diameter balls of poly (? we call it styropor in german)

The "beam blockers" are kind of meh... I would look at the Alpha as a mid driver in a top box. You could build it the width of your current cab for aesthetics and stability.
