2x10 Rig: Markbass vs. TC Electronics ?

Thanks for all the input guys. I understand the compression with the RH450/RH750's and I actaully think it sounds good. Tight & controlled (got a chance to play an RH450 & RS210). And though I didn't have a chance to do an A/B comparo with Markbass - but from what I heard out of the TC stuff - I made my decision :)

Perhaps my reqest for a "full and wide" sound was more speaking towards the cab - and the RS210 does sound very full sounding - I wanted full and wide becuase I had a highly touted cab - the Bergantion HD210 which I had which had a certain "boxy" tone to it... very "small & midrangey" sounding to my ears.... it sounded more like a component cab to me. I own and love the HD410 - but the HD210 just didn't do it for me.

Anyhow....

Suprised how much I liked the RS210 cab!

It is a great cab, and the RH450 sounds great if you dig the voicing. That is a nice rig.

The HS210 (almost identical to the HD210 from the info I have) was definitely my least favorite Berg cab of all the ones I own, so +1 there. Boxy is as good a description as any. I greatly prefered the RS210 over that one.

Enjoy the rig! Get a padded cover (the TC covers are affordable and decent), given the spray on coating of that cab). I also put rubber feet on the bottom of the 210 for stand alone use, which kept the bottom from getting chewed up, and provided a more stable coupling to the stage, given the small footprint.

FWIW I use a MB LMIII and two TC RS210 cabs. This rig is perfect for me and gets through all my gigs. If its a bigger gig I use the DI out of the amp. For small gigs, recording and practice I use just one cab. I was a long time Ashdown user before and before that it was HiWatt

(Almost) same experience here! I use a MB TA 501 (sounds about the same as the LMIII) through an RS410 and I'm completely satisfied. The head is a matter of personal preference (AB'd a LMIII against a RH750 and the MB suits me best), but there is no denying the RS cabs are amazing cabs, especially for the money, that pair very well with different heads.
