2x12 bassman cabinet: which speakers???

There is not an off the shelf 4 ohm version of the BP-122 that I am aware of.

You might measure the inside dimensions of your cabinet to be sure it's ~.75CF as it might be a more liberal (and better IMO) interpretation of a reproduction. If you are lucky, it's ~4" deeper which opens up more options.

I subtracted the internal brace/divider from the length, which does not completely separate the halves.

If I'm doing my math correctly, that's 3.13CF total, minus the driver displacement.

Fortunately for you, that's the "improved" version "reproduction".

So estimating this at between 2.5 and 2.75CF, you have a heck of a lot more options, but the BP-122 is quite tolerant of enclosure size..

The BP-122 may be available in either 4 ohm, or 16 ohm (preferred) that will be pretty close, but you need to call Eminence retail sales and ask. Usually there's an up-charge.

This driver in a ~2.5-2.75CF box, you would get:
F3=62Hz, F6=50Hz and an F10=40Hz with mechanical power handling approximately equal to the thermal power handing, which is very respectful of a sealed enclosure. It will take low eq well. Leave the damping as it is.

The only downside is that you do pay a (very minor) efficiency/sensitivity penalty, coming in at roughly 96dB/1W/1M (for the 212) but that's not bad at all IMO.

Thanks. Just to clarify, are you saying a pair of bp-122 in there (keeping it a 2x12") or a single with the 2nd speaker hole sealed for a 1x12"?

My '64 Bassman head (6G6-B) is 4 ohm only.

A pair, your cabinet is larger than the OP's. If your amp can drive 4 ohms, then the stock 8 ohm drivers wired in parallel will work fine.

A pair, your cabinet is larger than the OP's. If your amp can drive 4 ohms, then the stock 8 ohm drivers wired in parallel will work fine.

This is the size of my cab and I guess why it sounds good with tight bass response. I didn't realize Fender made smaller 212 cabs the size the OP described.
 
I did read the OP's post...........but not the measurements attached. I was assuming they were the Bassman 212 measurements. Anyhoo, back to your regularly scheduled programming.:D
Well I guess this one needs to be chalked up to an adventure down a rabbit hole... ;)
 
well, im guessing most people here knew what i was talking about anyhow. 32 inches wide, 20 inches tall, 11.5 inches deep. if some of you people thought i was wanting to put two 12 inch speakers in a head cabinet sized enclosure… my apologies. lol.
Well in this case, my later advice applies.

Details are VERY important here.

thought i'd give this thread one more piece of information: a volume for sealed enclosure calculator found that a 20x32x11 sealed enclosure, with a wood thickness of 5/8 ply, would have 3.25 cubic feet. that's 1.625 cubic feet per driver, which doesn't seem too bad to me. if that's wrong, please correct me. but i've currently moved on from the tiny bassman cabinet idea :)

Like I said earlier, with your wrong earlier information, my earlier recommendation no longer applies. My later recommendation of drivers (Eminence BP-122) is accurate for your actual cabinet.

There was a smaller version of that 212, but they are mostly seen in the vintage amp market and they weren't all that common iirc.
