so finally finished my homemade 2x15 cab.it has two Celestion BN15-300X 8 ohm speakers,no tweeter as the speakers are plenty bright,the cabs pretty big 1200mmx630mm and 550mm deep.Tried it out tonight at a gig sounds pretty good needs finishing thats a job got my day off. Link Removed

Nicely done, how are you going to finish it? I just did my DIY rig in Duratex. Not as hard to apply as I thought it would be, just like painting. You should chekcd that stuff out.
cheers,duratex is what im thinking,got some metal corners an stuff,found out i need an additional brace between the front and back panels as well.This was my first cab so when i plugged in and powered up i was dreading some horrible farty sound lol.
lol ive seen plenty of fart canons, usually people who pop in vents with no clue on tuning frequencies. what tuning you using on this box?
two Celestion BN15-300X and its tuned too about 50hz. I read all the faq's and learned too use winsid first,theres improvements too be made but im quite happy with it.

This bracing scheme (modified for your 2x15) gives the best results while using the least amount of material:
The braces can be 1" round or 1" square or 1/2" x 2" plywood. Using a maximum brace to brace/brace to corner distance of 8" with 1/2" plywood panels or 12" with 3/4" plywood the cab will be totally inert.

cheers Bill ive only braced the side panels in this fashion,but i have time off thursday so ill take the speakers out and do the additional bracing,it was ok lastnight because the gig wasnt too loud but for louder gigs i can see that the bracing is needed. There is interior lining you'll be pleased to know.

Nice cab but where are the handles mate?, Like Bill says and incidentally an adage I also invariably swear by: "If a things worth doing, its worth doing well and the stiffer the better I've found.
there's a big handle on the back,with the neo speakers its so light i can one hand it,but i am gonna add side handles for ease.My misses always says the stiffer the better too.
pretty good,at half gain nice and growly good for punk,also good for slap,turn the gain all the way up and you sound like lemmy but bassier. I also like the fact its a kustom atop a custom
cool. I'm looking to sell my carvin BX500 to get one of these. My carvin is great and sounded GREAT through my Avatar 2x12 but through my Acoustic 215BX replica....doesn't sound so hot (WAY too middy). Thinking this is the SS amp for a more traditional cab (tweeterless, ported 2X15).
thing is i like a middy sound,and i chose speakers that were good in that range,the kustoms pretty good for a more classic sound with the gain around half,plus at only 205pounds its not alot too shell out.
