3 Bass Limit

Have em. Don't need anything else.

If I was keeping 3 of my current 5, they would be:
  • Modulus Q5
  • G&L M-2000 ash/maple
  • G&L JB alder/maple
That means I'd have to part with my G&L L-2500 fretless and my beloved '90 Peavey Dyna bass (first 'real' bass). At first I thought I'd have to keep a fretless if I only had 3, but from a 'how much do you actually play them?' standpoint, if push came to shove I'd likely keep the JB over the L-2500.

And actually, I'd just put the Peavey in a plexiglass frame, hang it on the wall, and call it Art so I could still keep it for sentimental reasons....

If all of my basses disappeared tomorrow and I could only replace them with 3 new basses (and I had a bit more budget), I'd probably go:
  • G&L M-2500 in ash/maple
  • Mike Lull active 4-string J-bass
  • G&L SB1 or SB2 with flats

But then again, I don't plan on downsizing to 3 anytime soon....

Luckily I don’t have to go down to three, but I am fortunate to have the three I would keep.

1) 1988 E-Series MIJ Fender Power Jazz Special
2) 1999 EBMM Stringray Stealth 4 HH
3) 2003 Warwick German Corvette Standard 5-String

I see a lot of Rickenbackers mentioned. Never played one and have always wanted to try one, but my top 3 would be hard to break up.

I kinda went a different route. Had three kids and therefore limited myself to one bass, being financially responsible sometimes sucks. Honestly, these days I’m lucky I can hold on to the one I have and barely have time to play.

These days I'm a Squier guy, so . . .

My modded James Johnston Sig Bass (I can't believe I'm including a four)

My Contemporary Active Jazz Bass Five (who thinks up these names)

My Precision Five (which is going to be trade bait as soon as the Cont Act Precision Five makes it to the stores)

Big Fun, Not Much Money.
