Not only is he a confessed thief, but he's clearly lacking the moral compass to understand why anyone would criticize his actions.
Let's face it, missing a switch isn't going to kill GC. However, they wouldn't be there for him to steal from if they were not a successful commercial firm. And they DO NOT sell things - including such mundane items as screws and springs - for several hundred times their worth. I suspect the OP has no background in, or understanding of, business.
They operate at a reasonable markup made necessary by purchasing, shipping, staffing, maintenance and operations costs - in fact, much less markup than would be required if they were not an evil, money-grubbing nationwide firm. If they were a small independent operator in the OP's town, they would need to charge more for the same items because they would need to generate more profit.
If he does leave TB, I for one will not regret it. How sad that at age 23 he hasn't learned better.

I truly, honestly pity you because you don't have the mental capacity to understand what is wrong with you and your thinking.
This is not about a switch or it's insignificant value. It's not about guitar center or justifying or mitigating your actions in comparison to theirs.
It's not about some of us being more moral than you and wagging our finger at you. It's not about trying to insult one another for the sake of looking good to ourselves or others online.
It's about the fact that you acknowledge your own lack of morals as if it's some badge of honor and still think yourself to be a "good egg". That is the logic of a psychopath.
Al Capone was just trying to help good citizens get a drink, no matter who he had to kill to make that happen. He truly thought of himself as a hero.
What you think and what reality is are two very different things. You are MENTALLY ILL and unless you get help, you will eventually suffer for it. Unlike you I am human enough to not want to see another human suffer regardless of what I think of him and his actions.
Today, it's a little switch and the fact that you are facing no consequences will lead you to try something more significant in the future. This is why I pity you. There is no reason to have hope for you because the people who are helping you in this thread are not the ones you think they are.
