300 watt acoustic solid state head into 100 watt sunn cab with pedals

It's not about whether can or not, it's about the risk you may incur using that head with that bottom. The fact is you've just heard from the voice of hundred or so years of collective experience that have expressed concern about you experiencing a very expensive calamity. If I were were you, I wouldn't discount it.

How about a simpletons one? If you put more power into a speaker than it can handle it will break, either physically tear or get damaged or get too hot and the voicecoil fail.
If you put all 300 watts from you amp into a sopeaker rated for 100 watts it is likely that this will happen. If you are careful and never put more power into the speaker than it can handle then it will work fine. Working out how much power that is is the tricky part.

Well exactly, we all know that. Thats why im asking for an expert's explanation in order to understand the full magnitude of what occurs. Common sense has already been established

It's not the shape of the waveform, but exceeding the electrical or mechanical limits of the speaker. A square wave that is within those limits is no more dangerous than a sine wave within the limits. Square waves at the same peak level of a sine wave, or even music, will put different stresses on a speaker. You may have to back off the amp, to keep those stresses below the point of the speaker's limit. But again, it is not the fault of the shape of the waveform.

Your question is certainly centered around pedals, but the answer is centered around what you drive through the amp to the speakers. Maybe you need to recraft your question to get the answer you want?
That's completely inappropriate.

The science behind speakers and knowledge to fully understand it can fill an entire floor of a library. People dedicate their entire lives to the education required to understand it. And you're asking someone to parse that down to a few paragraphs? Do you ask your Doctor for his entire knowledge base about virus' when you go in for a flu shot? Do you ask your tax guy to recite the appropriate federal and state tax codes when he fills out your return?
Be realistic. People are telling you what you need to know. If you don't believe them, or don't like the answers you get here, check in at your nearest college and inquire about getting degrees in electrical and or mechanical engineering.

Calling people names is not the way to get help.
