32 in scale jazz bass options?

I like the 1.5 nut but how are they back to front?

They were pretty slim as I recall. Both are sitting in a local store waiting for their forever homes, so I can't measure...

I remember them being pretty comfy, but my tastes are esoteric -- I'll play my 68 Fender Telecaster bass with a huge wide fat neck, and then my MIJ Jazz with a slim neck, then my Aerodyne with a modern C, then my P with the Lowe conversion neck, then...
And I like them all.

Just measured my two:

The SX maple (old headstock) neck I just bought is 0.845" at the first fret, and 0.911" at the 12th fret.
The SX rosewood (brand new takeoff) neck I have is 0.846" at the first fret, and 0.912 at the 12th fret.
For comparison, my MIM (1990's) Fender J is 0.788" at the first fret, and 0.923" at the 12th fret.

I honestly can't feel a difference in thickness.

They do look spectacular, but to commit to over a grand shipped sight unseen... I dunno if I'm ready to make that commitment.

There was a TB guy, Brad Lowe, that makes 32" conversion necks, or did, that will screw right on any J or P body. There is a huge ongoing thread on those somewhere on TB. Find yourself a used Squier and have yourself a middie for 500 bucks.

I built one and now I'm a mid scale junkie. Beware.

I need to update the form on the thread...prices have gone up a little heading into 2017.

It has always been my intention to have a handful of these on hand to accommodate implulse buys, but they always seem to sell before I get around to posting them up.

They do 30" scale shorties, too. I'm really intrigued, but don't have the dough right now. I am going to give them strong consideration when I do, though. They didn't have anything that was exactly what I want on their website for sale, is there much of an up charge if you order to spec?
