34 or35" scale for Five String

Several posts have mentioned the new ibby fanned fret bass. Color me intrigued....but I would be concerned about the reach on the lowest notes of the B string.
Me too, but the neck doesn't look much longer than a 34" scale SR... Instead it looks like they pushed the bridge saddle back as far as it could go, but that's going off pics alone.

One thing to consider about fanned fret basses, is that the bridge is also on a ig angle, and if you move straight up and down as you cross the strings, you'll be playing noticeably closer to the bridge on the higher strings, which will increase the feel of tension and may make a noticeably brighter tone... Of course, crossing the strings with the same angle as the bridge should correct this.
