This is interesting because I'm just about to order TWA GD for some synth tones. Do you prefer Octabvre over TWA GD and why? I thought they are in different ballparks cause GD seems much more complex.

My reasons:
1) Easier to fit Octabvre on my board
2) I worried A LOT about those sliders being exposed, especially since I gig a lot and the board goes everywhere
3) I prefer having the SUB switch on the Octabvre when I want only octave tones, so I get two tones that are easy to switch to
4) The GD is a bit hard to get dialed in, a lot to tweak plus the inside settings too
5) Price point

Don't get me wrong, I LOVED the GD, but the Octabvre gets me what I need in a better package.

Note that this depends on where you're setting the "Vol," dry/octave "Mix," and OC-2/Mutron "Tone." As mentioned, I've noticed the Mutron side (full CW) is a little louder (or at least more "present") than the OC-2 side (full CCW); also, I think (haven't checked lately) the overall volume may get a little louder the more sub-octave you mix in. So depending where you're setting your dials, when you hit the Sub only switch, there could be a volume and tone difference. But the "Sub Vol" knob allows you to compensate for this.

I find that, at the mix of dry/octave and OC-2/Mutron that I like, the Sub Vol knob has to be a little lower than the Vol knob to get an even volume match.

The true test is if you set the Mix full CW (sub-octave only), then hit the Sub switch, then there shouldn't be a tone change. (I haven't checked to see if the Vol and Sub Vol knobs are level-set at this point.) Anyways, I think you get the idea...

Guys, I need a sort of brainstorm support from you pedal lovers. I've just received my TWA Great Divide and thinking of its place in effects chain....
A question is in which order would you set up your effects chain if you had the following:
Wolnderlove, Y'Doom, Darkglass B3K, Octabvre and another synth octave pedal (Great Divide). Would you put them all in a loop of WL?

Edit to previous: I checked recently, and on the OC-2 side (Tone full CCW), the volume actually goes down the more sub-octave you add with the Mix knob. Interestingly, on the Mutron side (Tone full CW), the volume goes down as you turn the Mix knob from full CCW to 12 o'clock, but then goes up again from 12 o'clock to full CW. All that to say, it's key to have both knobs for overall volume and sub-only volume to compensate.

I traded for that Prototype Octabvre and I'm loving it! (I did check with Spencer btw, Im quite happy and was a great deal from fellow TBer!) I recently got a Wonderlove and trying out different spots in my chain. I kept my OC2 to use in fx loop and kept Octabvre out to use with rest of fx. I tried at a gig Friday night and it seems the volume was low so threw my Joyo UD in the loop after the OC2 to boost volume and it worked quite well. However I notcied the Joyo which normally can get pretty dirty didnt have that effect inside the fx loop. It worked to boost volume and adding lil grit was cool but the available overdrive seemed to less than outaide the loop. Any thoughts?

Have you tried the Octabvre and Bass Fuzz in the fx loop of the Wonderlove? Works great for me, but I have another fuzz for use without the Wonderlove. I have a You're Doom coming tomorrow....

I put all of my effects pedals (dist, fuzz, octave, etc) into the WL loop. I would put the CC after the WL, or maybe last in the loop.

So my You're Doom pedal arrived and I tried it in the Wonderlove's fx loop.... sounds great! (well duh!) Nice synthy grit! Also I noticed that after I moved my MXR BFD out of the loop, I can drive the BFD with the YD and it sounds pretty awesome! I adds a lot of character and balls for a lack of beteter words! I gotta mess around more with placement but pretty sure it'll stay where it is.

I've been holding off on a new OD until I see/hear the 3Leaf OD... I tried the Smallsound Mini and loved it but havent purchased yet as I have high hopes for anything 3Leaf. I will definitely be buying the Wonderlove Expression switch as that is a much needed feature on my board. Any teasers for us Spencer? The GAS is building yet again.
